Code Red!!
As of today the Code Red Emergency Notification System is operational! I urge all residents of La Vergne to please follow the link at the bottom of this post to register today. I just went through the process myself and it’s very easy to do and there are some options to choose what you want to go to your phone.
After you sign up there are three possible phone numbers that will call you:
866-419-5000 for Emergency Comm for Emergency Notifications
855-969-4636 for ECN Community for General Notifications
800-566-9780 for Emergency Comm for CodeRED Weather Warning Alerts
I recommend that you add these to your address book as I know I’m not the only one who refuses to answer 1-800 numbers on my cell. If you don’t answer the system does leave a voice mail. In addition you can call the system back and get the last message sent to your phone.
I will be setting up a time to be available at the Senior Center to assist anyone who needs help and if you need help before that let me know and I will meet you at City Hall setting this up is really a piece of cake.
Here is what Alderman Tom Broker had to say:
“CodeRed is now live for residents of La Vergne. It is my hope that all residents choose to opt-in as many phone numbers (cell, home, or work) or e-mail addresses as they wish to be alerted when severe weather is approaching or when there are other emergency announcements. It costs nothing to opt-in and takes only about a minute, Please feel free to share this with all your friends.”
And there you have it La Vergne.. make good use of this system as it might save your life!
